I still haven't decided who I will share this blog with, it may well never see the light of day, and in that case I'm talking to myself...moving swiftly on - or I might grab a hold of my cojones and share it with the world! - so if you already know what this blog / I'm all about then feel free to skip ahead a few pages - if you are coming across this for the first time then WELCOME!
I started HISA just before setting off on a much awaited adventure to South Africa to take up a post as a doctor. I'd made handwritten journals of other trips before (in the sort of Eat, Pray, Love way) but usually give up after three days (because reading them makes my toes curl up) and rely solely on Instagram to record all the things I get up to. Heading off to South Africa for a year, I knew I'd just be kidding myself if I hit up Paperchase for a glitter covered journal - and so Hannah in South Africa was born.
